Felicia Kitzmiller reports at the Herald-Journal:
Heading into the second week of election filing, a few Spartanburg County incumbents are facing opposition.
County Councilman O’Neal Mintz has represented District 2, which encompasses the Boiling Springs and Chesnee communities, since 2006 and is seeking his third consecutive term. Mintz operates a scrap metal recycling business and will face a Republican primary challenger in June for the first time since his 2006 election.
Justin Bradley, who is challenging Mintz for the District 2 seat, is a political newcomer who said he hopes to be a “conservative leader who will bring new vision and new ideas to county council.” Bradley lives in Boiling Springs and is an attorney for a consumer financial services company.
